The BRN visits the Czech Republic
For the second time already, the Deutsch-Tschechische Zukunftsfond is celebrating the cooperation of various actors from the Czech Republic and Germany. This year, the neighbourhood celebration “DasFest” will take place in Plzeň / Czech Republic. On Saturday, 25 May 2019, the park Šafaříkové sady will be transformed into a mile of togetherness. There will be a varied programme to discover and participate in: concerts, street theatre, workshops, debates, dance and the presentation of German-Czech projects.
A special feature this year is the presentation of various street festivals from the two neighbouring countries. Together with the Stadtteilhaus Neustadt , Kultur Aktiv presents the Neustadt Bunte Republik Neustadt district festival.
The following programme items are offered:
Passport office | The Bunte Republik Neustadt is a micronation. We erect the embassy in Pilsen for one day and issue passports.
The photo exhibition | With some photographs we bring along we let the visitors in Pilsen experience something of the atmosphere of our Republic birthday. After all, only fragments of the street festival can be brought to the Czech Republic.
Potato printing | The artist Thomas Preibisch, well known in the Neustadt, brings pressure to the potato. In the workshop the visitors are invited to become creative and to create printed works together.
Dwarf checkers | Compete against each other with real garden gnomes? In allusion to the Orange Alternative in Poland, the Orange Dwarves appear again and again in the German-Polish-Czech border region.
Music | Music should not be missing at any street festival. The virtuoso musician Farid Ben Miles will bring along a musical sample of Neustadt music life on his guitar.
